The experience

Living and learning on site
You’ll be taught basic cattle station skills and by the end of it, you will be rewarded by the experience of daily life as a budding jackaroo or jillaroo.
Your course presenters are qualified, experienced professionals. Developing quad riding, saddling and horse riding techniques, you’ll be cattle mustering in no time. If you prefer four wheels to four legs, quad bike riding may be for you.
Remember, you are learning at the premier training facilities of the Northern Territory.
After introductions and training, we’ll head off to check water bores and watering points, and show you all the maintenance that goes into running an outback property.

We know you’re on holidays!
And to relax (after a hard day’s work in the sun!) our swimming pool will help you cool off, and our cooks will fill you with quality Aussie ‘tucker’. You will have your own comfortable room with shared bathroom facilities – just as a jackaroo or jillaroo demands.
Included is a ‘must do’ cruise or canoe up the spectacular Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge.
Fit?
We’re not expecting marathon runners, but you will be expected to have a reasonable level of fitness and be prepared to take on physical work. If you are comfortable working during daylight hours in temperatures exceeding 30oC/86oF, then we count you in.
What to bring
We are in a hot part of Australia, so pack light weight, long sleeve shirts and jeans, other light casual clothing, non lace-up boots and socks, a wide brimmed hat, water bottle, sunscreen and insect repellent, toiletries, swimwear, towel and a camera. These can be purchased in Katherine. Swags and bedding are provided.
